Originally conceived as a special commissioned project, the piece naturally evolved into a defining work within the Lighting Collection. Developed over the course of eight months — from the earliest sketches to its final execution — the pendant marks an important moment in Lucas Recchia’s practice and his expanding exploration of lighting design.
Entirely handcrafted in bronze, the work reveals a new level of expressive freedom in the manipulation of the material, achieving a remarkable sense of fluidity and lightness despite its monumental scale of over 150 kg. Balancing density with delicacy, the piece transforms bronze into a sculptural gesture suspended in space, reinforcing the studio’s continuous dialogue between material strength and visual softness.
The project also reflects the importance of commissioned works within the studio’s trajectory, where creative trust and close collaboration become catalysts for experimentation, allowing new forms and typologies to emerge organically within the practice.
