“Caco” is the Brazilian word for “shard.”

In this work, Lucas Recchia delves into the expressive potential of glass, exploring the emotions that the aesthetics of broken glass evoke: a sense of both loss and transformation. A shattered object ceases to simply “be” and instead begins the process of becoming something new. This piece was crafted using discarded industrial glass, developing a recycling process.
